DHEA-F
Women have unique needs when it comes to maintaining their health. DHEA-F is a combination that features a hormone known as DHEA as well as several well established "female" herbs, the combination of which will help maintain a woman's health.

DHEA, a hormone that is produced by the adrenal glands, is the most abundant steroid in blood and in brain tissue. Generally DHEA levels drop about 80% between the ages of 20 and 65. The level of DHEA in the bloodstream may be a good indicator of cancer risk.

There has been some experimental work that has shown that DHEA has promise as a remedy for cancer, aging-, AIDS, Alzheimer's disease, lupus, atherosclerosis, adult onset diabetes and other degenerative diseases. DHEA may also slow the process of aging. DHEA also triggers feelings of fullness that can help control appetite.

English studies indicate that DHEA levels are lower than normal in women with breast cancer. In animal studies mice that had a genetic tendency were given DHEA supplements. After eight months of DHEA supplements they had not developed tumors.

Wild Yam is a Mexican plant that was commonly known as Colic Root, but the root of this plant is also used for other purposes. Wild Yam has a saponin called diosgenin which is used in the manufacture of synthetic hormones. It has a progesterone-like effect in the body.

Wild Yam has also been used as an anti-inflammatory and in large doses as an expectorant and diuretic. Traditional uses include rheumatism and high cholesterol. Its steroidal effect has caused some people to use wild yam as a contraceptive. When taken over a long period, it causes a temporary sterility that ends when the women discontinues wild yam supplements.

False Unicorn or helonias is a plant that has been used for a variety of female disorders. This root is a strong tonic with restoring and astringent properties similar to rosemary that affect the urinary, digestive and reproductive systems. It is especially useful for toning the uterus.

False Unicorn's utility on feminine health is due to the steroidal saponins found in its root. False Unicorn has been used for dry vagina, menstrual disorders, spotting between menses, low levels of estrogen and progesterone, infertility, and leucorrhea. It is also used in combination with black haw and wild yam to pi-event miscarriage in women that are prone to it. It may be used as a replacement for Dong Qual.

Chaste Tree is an interesting tree indeed. It is also known as monk's pepper and was used by friars to maintain chastity. The tree was also carried by pilgrims in Europe to ward off evil spirits as they traveled to holy sites.

Chaste Tree berries also contain steroidal properties and stimulate the progesterone phase of a woman's reproductive cycle. As a result. it has been used for a variety of feminine worries including depression and hot flashes in connection with menopause, PMS, menstrual irregularities and other hormonal imbalances related to low progesterone levels.

It is suggested that women take 1 capsule of DHEA-F three times daily with meals to promote overall health and help conditions specific to female health.
